February 2025 Insights

Greetings in the Name of the Risen Saviour!

It’s February already, and although we’ve had more sunshine in recent weeks then we typically have through the winter, I know that for many the short winter days can be depressing. While we long for the warm spring, we can look forward in the hope of God’s promise that the seasons will continue to come and go until Jesus returns. Having said that, the question I ought to challenge myself with- as I also challenge you- is: which am I looking more forward to: the warm spring sunshine, or the return of Jesus to finally renew all things?

As biblical counsellors, we endeavour to point our clients to the Truth of Scripture, who is the Source of all our hopes. Whether people are struggling with depression or anxiety, are suffering in a difficult relationship, are plagued by bad memories of years past, or are striving (and often failing) in their battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil, Jesus offers Himself as Light, Refuge, Wisdom, Love, Healer, Saviour.

The need for biblical counselling continues to increase. In 2024 we conducted over 2000 counselling sessions, and dozens of counselling group sessions. We had 3 interns working with us, 2 of whom are still on board, and we are welcoming 2 more this month. Still, there is more work, so we’ve decided to hire 2 part-time counsellors.

A few other exciting happenings this month: on February 14 we are hosting our annual Valentine’s Trivia Night Fundraiser (a personal favourite of mine- and one of additional surprises this year!); and at the end of the month a team of us will be in Brantford for the Marriage: A Beautiful Mystery conference. If you weren’t able to attend this conference in November, here is the opportunity to catch what you missed out on! Looking forward to seeing many there.

Be sure to check out next month’s insights as you’ll be introduced to some new staff!
