January 2025 Insights

Well, that was quick: another year come and gone! 

As I look back over 2024 I am filled with thanks at the goodness of the Lord. He has carried us through this year, showering us with blessing upon blessing, enabling us to continue the work of ministering the gospel to struggling saints as well as to the yet-unsaved, and equipping the saints for the works of ministry. In 2024 we added 2 staff members: Marija, our Development Director, and Elaina, one of our biblical counsellors. And the demand for biblical counselling services continues to grow.

Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to hire 2 new part-time counsellors. This is in part due to the ongoing demand for counselling, and in part due to one of our counsellors moving into another season of life.

Gail DeGiovanni will be retiring from serving at Insight in early Spring. I have worked with Gail since October of 2013. She has been a wonderful blessing to many clients and group participants. She has helped develop curriculum for our biblical counselling groups, and has helped in the planning and execution of many events. Gail will undoubtedly be missed!

I am also looking forward to 2 events coming up in February: our Valentine’s Trivia Night which I thoroughly enjoy each year, and also the Marriage: A Beautiful Mystery conference which is being held in Brantford at the end of next month, the Lord willing.

New Year’s resolutions? I resolve to be more frequent in prayer for our clients and donors as well as for the staff and Board of Insight. One thing that I will be praying for is that all God’s people- myself included- would grow in following Jesus’ example of living in conscience dependence on the Father. May the Lord be glorified in us in this way!
