Greetings fellow travellers on the road to the Celestial City!
Whether you are battle-weary or joy-filled today, anxieties continue to be part of the journey. As I was searching for some misplaced document in my desk last week, I came across this old poem I had saved. I trust God will use it to encourage you in your walk today.
From an old English parsonage down by the sea
There came in the twilight a message to me;
Its quaint Saxon legend, deeply engraven,
Hath, it seems to me, teaching from Heaven.
And on through the doors the quiet words ring
Like a low inspiration: “DO THE NEXT THING.”
Many a questioning, many a fear,
Many a doubt, hath its quieting here.
Moment by moment, let down from Heaven,
Time, opportunity, and guidance are given.
Fear not tomorrows, child of the King,
Trust them with Jesus, do the next thing
Do it immediately, do it with prayer;
Do it reliantly, casting all care;
Do it with reverence, tracing His hand
Who placed it before thee with earnest command.
Stayed on Omnipotence, safe ‘neath His wing,
Leave all results, do the next thing.
Looking for Jesus, ever serener,
Working or suffering, be thy demeanor;
In His dear presence, the rest of His calm,
The light of His countenance be thy psalm,
Strong in His faithfulness, praise and sing.
Then, as He beckons thee, do the next thing.

Many thanks to those of you who attended our annual Sweet & Savoury fundraiser on June 6. We are grateful, too, for our many business supporters who helped make this a successful event. We raised over $40,000- so thankful for the Lord’s provision through you!

The financial needs of the ministry continue, of course. As was mentioned in the June monthly insights, we were operating on a $50K deficit for the year…so we are just about to where we need to be, year-to-date, but now face an ongoing deficit situation.
If you were unable to attend the Sweet & Savoury, would you consider sending in a financial gift today and give the gift of hope to clients in need of hope and healing?
Stay tuned for a NEW and exciting fundraising event coming early fall!

We would ask for your prayers for Marija, our Development Director. Marija suffered a concussion in a car accident at the end of January. Though having seen numerous doctors and specialists to date, the symptoms of that concussion continue. Along with physical side effects, discouragement is also a reality- Marija loves planning events and connecting with you, our supporters, so being unable to do what she loves is difficult. Would you be in prayer for her?
Marija is going to be off for several months, so the Board opened up a temporary position to cover her absence and to assist Michelle at the front desk.

Give the gift of hope by subsidizing counselling sessions for those in need.
