May 2024 Insights

God is on the move.

Whether it’s a couple once separated and now back together, a single man who sees that God has softened his heart toward a cantankerous family member, or someone who has by God’s mercy been caught in a sin and responding with genuine repentance, we see God actively at work in the lives of our clients. And we see the need increasing. New clients call in almost daily looking for solidly biblical counsel, which means we may well need to look at expanding our counselling team once again.

God is also on the move provincially and nationally. I have had several conversations in the last few weeks with individuals in Ontario and Alberta who are seeing the need for biblical counsellors in their area and are curios about biblical counselling training or establishing a biblical counselling ministry. Additionally, we have students in and out of province who are signing up for the CCEF courses offered in connection with our E4:12 Training program.

A few other highlights to share: Karina, Lynn and I spoke last month at the Ignite Hope conference in Dunnville to an audience of about 50 people serving in various ministry settings; Marija and I are off to Edmonton (along with two staff of Clarity Pregnancy Options) for the Faith, Fundraising and Communication Symposium; once we return, it’s just a few short weeks before our Sweet & Savoury Social- looking forward to meeting many of you there, and to share in more detail what God has been up to at Insight in the past year.

We value your prayers. Certainly, I would love for you to use the monthly prayer calendar (below) to pray for the needs of the people we serve at Insight, but we staff are also challenged by life in a fallen world. I especially would ask for prayers for several of our staff who are burdened with the care of aging parents: that the Lord would sustain them with His grace as they serve their loved one, and that these parents would see Jesus through the care they receive.

Grace be with you and to all moms, Happy Mother’s Day!

Join us for an evening of delectable charcuterie platters, desserts while hearing ministry updates and testimonials of what the Lord is doing through Insight Biblical Counselling. We are excited to host this event at a beautiful new venue this year; THE SHED OUT BACK located in Smithville. There is no cost to attend but RSVP’s are required as space is limited!

The E4:12 Training courses are run in collaboration with CCEF’s School of Biblical Counseling. Insight is coordinating groups of 5 or more students who are interested in pursuing biblical counselling training at a fraction of CCEF’s standard fee. A minimum of 5 students per course is required for students to receive the group rate of $125/course.

Local cohorts of students learn online & connect in person together with their online instructor. The time commitment is 6-9 hours per week and each course runs for 10 weeks.

If you are interested in enrolling in any of the courses that run June17-August 24, 2024, please click the link below to complete and interest form.
