At the start of the year the staff began reading through the book of Psalms in our morning staff devotions. Psalm 68:19 jumped out at me a week or two ago: “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens”. God meets us in the daily grind of life, bearing our burdens- not only the big ones, but also the everyday, mundane struggles that can weigh us down. I find great encouragement in that. A day or two later in my personal reading through Hebrews, I read: “Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children” (Heb. 12:7). Our Loving Father disciples and instructs us not only when we screw up, but also through the daily hardships and difficulties of life. So not only does He come side-by-side with us in our burden-bearing, but His intentions in allowing us to struggle is so that we would mature and grow in the process. To be honest, I don’t usually like the process, but knowing that “all the things” are part of God’s plan to bless us is Good News indeed!
Insight counsellors have (and have had) some unique opportunities this spring: Lynn completed the Uprooting Anger biblical counselling group with 30+ participants hosted at First Baptist Church in Welland; Andrea has several speaking events: Marriage & Gender Roles at a pre-marriage class in Flamborough; Personal Devotions & Relationship with God at a young adults event in Burlington; What is a Woman seminar at a women’s conference in Calgary; we will also have our Insight ministry table at the Breaking the Silence conference later this month, and at the Gospel Kids conference (Cambridge) the week after.
Many thanks to the Awake to Praise choir for donating the proceeds of their three spring concerts – totalling $8,193! Thank you to all who contributed to this timely gift.

On a sad note, due to ongoing health complications caused by a motor vehicle accident last year in January, Marija had to make the hard decision to resign her position as Development Director at Insight. Please join us in continuing to uphold her in prayer; may her testimony continue to be “praise to the Lord my Saviour, who daily bears my burdens”. She is and will be missed!
