October 2025 Insights

Equipping the Saints for the Work of Ministry (Ephesians 4:12)
At Insight, our E4:12 Initiatives exist to serve the Body of Christ by equipping the Church for works of service. 🙌

We’re grateful for the wonderful opportunities God has opened for our team to minister to communities this month!

  • 🎙️ Real Talk podcast: Andrea Kampen recorded a podcast for Real Talk based on last fall’s conference material.
  • 🎤 Our conference guest speaker Matt King also recorded a session.
  • 🍎 Compass Reformed Educator’s Convention: Andrea (keynote speaker) and Lynn will both be presenting talks for educators, speaking on Resilience and Trauma, respectively (Oct 23)
  • ⛪ First Baptist Church: Glen will be presenting a seminar on “Uprooting Anger” for a Bible study group (Oct 25)
  • 💬 Theology on the Ground: Sara and Glen have been asked to speak as part of a panel regarding “Shame and the Gospel” at Redemption Canadian Reformed Church in Flamborough for their monthly event (Oct 29)

Please pray for the preparation and execution of these events, that God would give the speakers clarity and passion for their presentations, and that He would till the soil of the hearts of hearers, so the seed sown will bear much fruit.

We are also gearing up for the E4:12 Conference

Just 6 weeks out! The foundational elements of all interpersonal relationships are that we know others and are known by them. The more we are willing to share with another- not just our surface-level day-to-day stuff, but our stories, our hopes, our fears- the more intimate the relationship. The same is true of a Christian’s relationship with God.

Through this year’s theme, Knowing and Being Known: Intimacy with God and Others, we want to explore the wonder of not only being able to truly know the God of heaven and earth, but also the wonder that we are deeply known by Him. This vertical relationship profoundly impacts how we do relationships, providing us with the safety we need to be vulnerable in sharing our very hearts with others.

Registration is open, but seats are limited, so you’ll want to book soon.

Church tickets are also available: your church can buy a ticket enabling anyone in your church to attend free of charge. Encourage your church leaders to buy a ticket for your church and encourage your fellow churchgoers to attend with you. Click here for more details

We have a special E4:12 Shepherds Connect pre-conference event for pastors, other church leaders and their spouses, with guest speaker Paul Tautges. Paul will encourage leaders to learn from the life of Jesus and his incarnational ministry. (Note: Dinner is included in this pre-conference event Friday, Nov 14, but tickets must be purchased separately from the church tickets).

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Conference!

This past month the Insight staff went to Niagara Christian Gleaners for our annual team building day! We enjoyed some hands on learning about this local non-profit while we served and fellowshipped together. (The Gleaners takes in excess local produce which they process and dry to be shipped around the world to feed the hungry.) After the morning at the Gleaners we gathered for lunch and a few rounds of corn hole.

Please continue to pray for our staff. Early last week, Scott suffered a heart attack and was taken to Hamilton General in need of quadruple bypass surgery. After undergoing some more tests, doctors determined his heart was too weak for surgery. Scott remains in the cardiac ICU, although there are certain signs of improvement. Pray also for Marija, who is still suffering the effects of a concussion, but hopes to begin modified duties soon.

There are a lot of moving parts, and everyone is pitching in to keep the ministry moving forward. Please pray for recovery and good health, joy in serving, and an unwavering focus on Jesus.
